While growing up in Central New Jersey, Nicole’s love for the ocean has driven her style and subject of artwork. She earned a degree in Art Education at The College of New Jersey in 2017. While teaching for four years out of college, she used her summers to invest herself into her personal art practice. In 2021, while living in Key West, Florida, Nicole decided to give up teaching for good and fully immerse herself into her work. By 2022, Nicole became a part of her first fine art gallery in Key West. She also began developing her muralist skills locally and out of state.

Being a military spouse, Nicole finds herself moving around the country every few years. In June of 2022, Nicole and her husband moved to San Diego, California. During her time there, she has refined her surfboard art practice and put on multiple exhibitions. She developed a unique style for her boards that has been described as feminine and spiritual. In this time, she traveled and completed many large murals throughout the country.

In June of 2024 Nicole relocated once again to Galveston, Texas where she has continued to share her work and collect new inspiration. She quickly was invited to join a local gallery, Affaire d’ Art, and has begun creating murals throughout the town. Nicole currently has a summer installation at Sunset Market and is working on her next solo exhibition coming up at the Texas Surf Museum.

Nicole’s Artist Statement

“I am a muralist and a painter working primarily with water based paints on surfboards.

I am drawn to surfboards and murals for many reasons, one being that each project is so unique and provides the opportunity to tell different stories.

I have always been drawn to the ocean and nature in general. I like to use these elements to express spiritual experiences and life lessons that the viewer can relate to. In addition to this, I aim to bring an elevated fine art and feminine touch to the world of surf art.

I have always been a firm believer in “everything happens for a reason.” I like to use my art to dissect these reasons and to express reassurance and positivity that we are on a path to a greater plan. Though I may have personal stories and experiences attached to the works, the viewer may interpret them and relate to them according to their own lives and what they are in need of energetically.”
